The real question. Why don't people do real research prior to breeding?

I just posted a sarcastic question, and removed it before it offended too many people. So, I will ask the question straight out. Why is it that many people don't do any real research before breeding? You hear of people worried when their ***** and stud get stuck together, and they don't know what to do. Not knowing that this was pretty well normal. Or, the woman earlier who had two dogs, one mutt and one pitt, that both had litters and the one dog was eating her pups. But, instead of calling the vet, she came here! Why do these people not learn? Why do they not want to call the vets? The question about the staph infection that they want home treatments, what are they thinking???

You know I wish I had an answer to this. Maybe people think animals breed naturally, so it must be easy?

Nah. Erase that. The last question I read just shut off my polite filter.

My new answer: some people are cheap, stupid and lazy.

Too cheap to call the vet.

Too stupid to recognize when a dog has a life-threatening issue

Too lazy to have done any research at all before, during or after the puppies arrive.

SIGH.

There are many folks here with good, reasonable questions and I try to look for their questions now.

I am going to skip the "i had a litter of 11 pups three weeks ago and now 8 are dead, what should i do?" questions. Someone else can answer "CALL A VET."

The reason is because the are lazy and stupid. Period!!
They really do not care about the welfare of the animals, all these people see is the potential for extra cash the animals bring. They do not call a vet because they worry if they call the vet may say bring the dog in and that would cut into the profits. In our disposible society the way animals are viewed is if it doesn't work out, oh well, let's just get another.

It's because of the general mentality of the American public...they want it NOW. Take dieting, for example. How many people take lose-weight-quick pills instead of losing weight the right, healthy way? Or who have an obvious medical problem but ask questions on the boards instead of going to a doctor?

And many people in this country think they shouldn't be held accountable for their actions if they didn't know that their actions were wrong. In the Four Corners, for example, you can be pulled over for throwing a cigarette out of the car window. People try to get out of the ticket because they didn't know it was a crime there. But ignorance is not an excuse.

So basically, people do all the things you listed because they're succumbing to the general mentality so popular in this country. And if they aren't going to take the time to take proper care of their own health, why would they do so for their animals?

If you find out the answers to any of these questions, please let me know. I rack my brain sometimes trying to figure out how people can possibly be this idiotic. Half of the time, I question if it's really an actual question or not. Especially, since so much of pet care and training is COMMON SENSE.

What really worries me is that some of these morons probably have children too! Are they attempting to treat their childrens' skin problems with motor oil or tying them outside in the middle of winter if they aren't potty trained in a week? Perhaps I don't want to know...

Bravo. I was wondering about the same things now i don't feel so alone.What really gets me is how many people want or do breed their dogs. This infuriates me very much but what can you do. If they only knew how stupid they sound maybe they would do the right thing and spay or neuter their pets.

I have no idea - it's so annoying to read about people who are having health issues with their pets and they jump on the net to try and find the answer?!? Their "beloved" pets could be dying and their wasting precious time by coming on here! Argh!!

Ive found that 80% of the population is walking around with their heads up their butts. 10% dont have a clue as to the difference between their head and their butt! 9% have done enough drugs to fry their brains. The remaining 1% of us come to this forum to laugh at all the rest!
