I have extremly bad sore throat, in fact its my weak spot, it bothers me throughout the whole year but in winter time I suffer the most. I always used to take clarithromicin for this but now I have no insurance and no money to pay for the doctor's visit plus the medicine. So my friend has erythromycin and she wants me to try it but I'm not sure what it is primarily used for, maybe it won't help my throat at all. So, please if you know something about it I'd really appreciate the info. Thanx

1) A sore throat could be simple (minor infection) or much more complex (need for tonsillectomy or even throat cancer) & there's no way to know without taking a throat culture.
2) Never take someone else's medicine. It wasn't meant for you. How the medicine is made and dosages are very personal, based on your age, weight, and what the medicine is supposed to do. Your friend might have taken it to clear up pimples, not whatever you have going on in your throat.
3) You can see a medical professional at Public Health Clinic for FREE, so go! Let THEM find out what's wrong & treat it.

I would not suggest self medication. Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

It could be the same infection. Culture and sensitivity tests should have been done both times you went. If not, find a new Dr. Also, make you you don't stop taking the perscribed antibiotics before you are supposed to. You might want to look up info on VRE & MRSA. Alot of people quit taking antibiotics as soon as they feel better. Bad idea!

It is an antibiotic, and should work. You should be aware that you need enough antibiotics to take for 5-10 days in order for them to work. If you only take a few--then you do wind up at an ER or doctor later--you will have masked your symptoms so that the doctors can't be sure what's wrong with you.

There must be a free or sliding scale clinic where you live (there are in virtually every city and state) where you can go for diagnosis and treatment. It's a bad policy to take other people's meds (though most have done so--particularly in the case of antibiotics given to other family members). If one turns out being allergic to a certain med he or she will wind up in the emergency room, anyway (if not worse).

Why do you have a sore throat so much?
I think they both treat bacterial infections.
And erythromycin can really cause alot of stomach aches, so if you try it, take it with a big meal or maybe a glass of milk

Know the asteroid wellhead tonsil stones them for many years and it's been title not eventually.

Best decision I've ever made! I was shocked by the way of getting out the stones out. It was so easy, but more importantly, painless. I really liked the little trick he had for preventing gag reflex. He have one happy customer here.

Baggy clothes hide the body and encourage lounging around. So no matter if you're relaxing at home, wear fitted clothes to keep you on track.
