why does he need to use a snake when using people is so much more effective

to the person above me Satan was made by God too. He probly took on the form of a snake then because he is clever, Adam and Eve were the only human's and to get the attention of eve He became a serpent to be seen while she was looking at the tree. Now he can take on anyform because their is a lot more going on in todays society.

OK killer just how stupid do you think Satan is? Some time in the near future Christ is coming back. but Satan is coming back for five months before Christ does. and when he is here he will be doing a spectacular job of convincing every one that he is Christ. So why would he be dumb enough to appear as the serpent of the book of genesis? swindled
