Yes, I would spent 7 active Army 13 years Reserve, activate for Desert Storm. I would do it the same except I would hope I was in a different unit going to Desert Storm my unit was full unprofessional soldiers. Who didn't want to be a soldier. I would of gave my life for my country. I worry however today that this war is out of hand. I pray for the safety of our men and women in harm way. I pray that we find someway to make them safer or better yet get them out of there.

I spent 22 years ( 3 active, 7 Guard, 12 Reserves) in the Army. I have NO regrets except these. I would have completed my senoir year in high school. I would not have entered a shoting match if I had known I was shoting to be a gunner on a choper. Out side of that I have no regrets serving my country. I was Army Special Forces with a MOS telephone line men, machine gunner, heavyMobil Unit( TANKS).

I spent four years in the Air Force from 77 to 81.After the 911 attacks i decided to go back in the service. In 2004 at the age of 44 and after a 22 year break in service i was back in uniform this time in the army. I have not looked back and have reenlisted.I was sent to IRAQ in 2005 and returned in 2006 and am going back again this year. I have no regrets about going back in the military and in fact enjoy it very much. It is the best thing i did for myself and my country. I am proud to serve. I was a cook in the Air Force and I am a cook in the army. When I was in IRAQ I did not cook. Myself and 17 other cooks did base security.

Up until 9/11, no way:
*I had a cushy teaching job, and a loving family to care for.
Since 9/11:
*I would go back in a heartbeat.
**In my old AFSC/MOS
**Or in a special ops. field.
**I tried, but after two years, the ANG couldn't find my records (to include my "long" DD-214), and they closed my app.
*Even though I'm still in excellent physical condition and have kept up with my "training", I'm now hard of hearing (maybe about a year or so away from a hearing aid), and need reading glasses to correct my students' assignments.
Even though I'm older than most of the members' parents, I STILL feel the frustration of having a cushy teaching job, while our best and brightest are getting shot at by the "bad guys" (and there's nothing I can do about it).

I'd say yes!...with a chuckle, but I'd still say yes! I learned to speak in four languages, survived the Chernobyl Nuclear explosion, November 17th Terrorist attack, Tracked the TWA 800 aircraft over Athen's Greece, and was scheduled to be on Flight 103 which crashed in Lockerbie but was called off the flight because I chose to be a bad azz with my my commander who thought he was punishing me by cancelling my orders to come home on leave - lol.....I launched the Lybian barbeque from my installation, and kicked off the original conflict in Iraq - all this in 6 years - what a ride!!! 83 - 89/Air Force/702

I served a four year tour and got out. I had a long break in service and got back in and have never looked back. I didn't change my MOS but I did change branches.

I retired last September with 25 years of service. I would do it again - as long as my MOS came with a vehicle.

Yup. I have no regrets.
However, I would probably go into Special Tactics.
Much more relevant to the current world situation, and the decline of industrial-age warfare.
