The ONLY thing you can do is to CALL the police on the teen that is beating or abusing you. Unfortunately, here in the states, there is no "HOTLINE" to report a teenage child beating/abusing their parents (believe me, I saw this ... and called the Hotline .. they LAUGHED ... and would NOT take a complaint against the teen) ... there are "Hotlines" for child abuse, there are "Hotlines" for Elder Abuse, but NOT for a PARENT being abused/battered by their teen child.

The even sadder part ... when you DO report your teenager, about the ONLY thing that will be done is to book the teen into jail, and then they are basically released BACK to the parent (whom they have abused in the first place) and there is no protection for the parent at all ... the cycle continues.

The ONLY thing a parent like this can do is to basically find a placement for your own child (which means not only does the teen get away with the abuse/assaults on their parent), but also that the parent is now DOUBLY punished by having to PAY for the costs of the 'other' living arrangement ...

There are some temporary placements (you need to look them up under at risk youth services), and there is also the route you (a parent) can go through to basically "Give UP" your parental rights and emancipate that teen ... and I've known some who have done that (because their teens were ASSAULTING/Battering the parent(s).

It depends a great deal on the child and on you - if the "child" is strong teenager and you are a petite lady, then you cannot really do this on a phsyical level - irrespective of what the numtpies say about daring to slap a child.

It depends also on where you live, in the UK there ARE helplines avaiable for domestic violence - whoever the victim ./ perpetrator is. I am not sure about other countries. Remember that although it says "violence" this applies to verbal and mental abuse as well as threatening behaviour.

Would suggest perhaps a little look with google and then sorting according to where you live.

Suggested search terms:

"domestic violence"
domestic mental abuse

Actually, a Lifetime movie was made about this. Anyway, if a parent is being abused, he/she has to contact the department of family services and ask for help. They may decide to take the child into custody for awhile, have him rehabilitated, or have him put in foster care. It really depends on the situation. Just call and find out more information.

Maybe the child needs counseling for underlying issues. How old is the child/children? Talk to the child's guidance counselor at school. Make an appointment with a doctor to be sure there is no medical condition. Talk to the child about her/his feelings and why they are so angry.
