While we grant that the dogma of the Blessed Trinity is an absolute mystery, which unassisted reason could never discover, nor even recognize as possible, we deny that it involves any contradiction. A mere statement of the doctrine will make this clear. In God there are three Persons in one Divine Essence, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, really distinct, equal and of one substance. The father is Unbegotten, the Son Begotten of the Father, and the Holy Ghost Proceeds from the Father and the Son (2 Council of Lyons, 1274)

Jesus was not saying He is not God. He was saying that nobody can be truly good but God. He was trying to get those who were calling Him good to realize that by doing so, THEY were calling Him God because only God is good.
The Bible says that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one in the same. Kind of like an egg. There is the shell, the white, and the yolk. 3 different parts - all one egg. God the Father created the universe. God the Son came to earth as a man to be relatable to us so that we could see His perfection and so that He could die for our sins since there is no way we could ever be perfect enough to earn our way into Heaven. God the Holy Spirit lives in our hearts to guide us and help us to live a life pleasing to God and by the example set by Christ.

Hmm. Read that verse again. There is another meaning to it. The man asking Jesus how to be saved saw that He was indeed God made flesh. Jesus was making a comment on that he observed that fact about Jesus.

I'll try to clear up your confusion. It's typically difficult once someone has set themselves up for the fall, but here it goes anyway.
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
The following statement is from The Teacher's Commentary:
Humanism (Mark 10:17–34). The “rich young man” who came to Jesus addressed Him as “good Teacher” and asked what he must “do” to inherit eternal life. These provide the key to understanding the next danger to the disciple: humanism.
Jesus immediately challenged the young man’s assumptions. Why did he call Jesus “good” and add a merely human title? Didn’t he realize that only God is truly “good”?
This is, of course, the key error of humanism. It seeks goodness in human motives and actions, without realizing that only God is good.
To help the young man discover his error for himself, Jesus asked about the commands listed on the second tablet of the Law.
Richards, L., & Richards, L. O. (1987). The teacher's commentary. Includes index. (622). Wheaton, Ill.: Victor Books.
The commentary goes on in context of Jesus teaching about Humanism. It's why he said what he said to the man who called him "good teacher". It wasn't a denial about him being God, though at the time Jesus was also very much human. But I wonder what you make of John 1? How could you miss it? And have you ever read this?
Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
It is important to note that in the Greek it uses a verb that means 'to empty' , as he 'emptied himself' and 'struck a tent' in human flesh. He was always around. "Before Abraham was I AM."
So I don't know who had you come to the conclusion you did, but you ( to answer one of your questions ) you really know Jesus is Jesus by the influence of the Holy Spirit, by the will of the Father, by the promise of Jesus Christ who also said:
John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
If you do not trust what he says, you will not become the habitation of the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit to guide us, we will not even want to come to him.

Jesus did not make it clear He was not God!
where did you get that foolishness?
the qur'an?
only God could have died on the cross, taking on every single sin of every human being that has lived or will ever live.
boy, have you got some studying to do!!
John 3:18. He that believeth on Him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

You misunderstand the verse.
Jesus was being addressed as "Good Teacher".
He was merely pointing out that goodness is not something that resides in man, but in God.
Elsewhere we read:
"Do you say of Him, whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, "You are blaspheming," because I SAID, "I AM THE SON OF GOD."? (John 10:36)
In John 20:28, after being raised from the dead, He received this address by the Apostle Thomas: "My Lord and my God!"
How do you know?
"Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.... by faith we know...." (Hebrews 11:1,3)
"Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the message of Christ" (Romans 10:17)

Look closely at the verse you quoted. Jesus is not denying his deity.
In another passage, Jesus said "Before Abraham was, I AM." The Jews knew that by saying this, he was claiming to be equal to God. That's why they tried to stone him.

1st Corinthians 3:23 says "And you are Christ's and Christ is God"s" Just as we belong to Christ, Christ belongs to God.
Jesus was not admitting sinfulness. He was rejecting this man's view that eternal life could be achieved by doing good deeds. The goodness of God is the source of our eternal life.
