Logitech had something a few years back thats main function was a webcam, but could be used after diconnected from the computer. (Like a digital camera.) The idea was good, but the images came out horribly.
If anyone has it, I bet Logitech does. See if they've got anything with good user ratings.

Most any good camcorder will function as a web cam. Just read the manuals of the products that you are considering and you will know whether or not they will do what you want them to do.
Try Sony. I like their camcorders very much.
