I have windows 98 and when i want to save file to cd i get info that i do not have permission to save it,open?

I just want to save files on my cd -i can listening music from cd so why i can not save file to cd? Do i need some kind of software or driver for it?

it is not like xp. You have to have a cd writer and any writing program. MAKE SURE YOUR CD DRIVE IS A WRITER!

CD-R by definition are read only. If you had a CD-RW and software you could save.

If you have a CD burner then you can burn files to a blank CD. I can't remember if WIndows 98 has built-in software. You might need to download something like:Nero or Roxio burning software.
