how to make a documentary????

how can i make a documentary for school on a country?? its going to include everything in it!! but i want to know a good software or program to go with me step by step for free!!
please help..

For free? If you have a Windows XP, you could use Windows Movie Maker. I'd also suggest getting a book from your library on the subject of documentary films, and using that as a guide when creating yours.
