What makes aluminium cans stay colder longer? Keeping them in the fridge. hehe
Actually, the answers above are correct. If you put a nano-thermometer in each of a few hundred aluminum drink cans and as many glass bottles and plastic containers, put one of each in various settings (different sensible heat and latent heat) you'd likely find that the liquid warms up quickest in the aluminum ones.
Glass is used as an electrical insulator (not sure how well it insulates heat), plastic is...well, wear a plastic jumpsuit, sealed at the ankles, neck and wrists, all day and decide if it's an insulator.
A little-known fact is that eating and drinking from and cooking in aluminum pans, cans, etc, has been linked to Alzheimer's disease. I'd like to offer a big burly "Thanks a Heap" to all the scientists that waited till I'd consumed a couple decades worth before they finally told me. Heck! I'm only 3 to 4 decades old and I'm already getting distracted in mid-sentence, forgetting where i'm going, etc.
And while we're on the subject, all the computers I've ever built required a device on the CPU called a heat-sink to trasfer heat from the concentrated area on the surface of the chip out to large parallel 'fins' that increase surface area.
In the early-nineties we started putting fans on them (computers heated up due to the downloading of steamy information about Bill Clinton and Jennifer Flowers. Such data alone generated a phenomenon known as "CPUberty").
Anyway, in answer to your question, yes, Hillary DOES wear aluminum undergarments. Hope that helps.

Aluminium cans feel colder on when held because they conduct the heat from your hand better. However glass conducts poorly so that the liquid inside should stay colder longer.

And don't forget plastic which is a better insulator. Poorly worded question. What makes you smarter? Or did you mean your question as asked? Opening the can will make it stay cooler longer, as will insulating it, finally dropping it out of a plane at the south pole will mean it will stay cold for a looooong time.

i think its because aluminium is a type of metal that reflects most of the heat being directed to it.

Surprise, they don't. Glass has more mass and will stay cold longer.
