If she's spitting up food, take her to the vet because she may have a tumor or other serious health problem. If she's just spitting up hairballs, which is actually a good thing (rather than let the hair compact in her gut and have to pay for surgery to have it removed), you should start giving her hairball medication (Petramalt or something like it) to help the hairballs pass through her digestive system and out the other end. If she's spitting up plant matter, it means she's been eating your plants (cats are not vegetarian but eat greenery to make themselves vomit or if their teeth need cleaning).

If you wanted to get rid of her, you would have done it by the 3rd time she threw up. If the problem is money (you don't have any) try to see if there's some kind of pet society that can help you. It does sound like you have to take your cat the the vet. Give her a chance. She needs you now and you are all she has.

Call your vet. Don't take the advice you get one here. Some of it, obviously, doesn't come from caring cat lovers. Some may be well meaning, but don't know what to do.
There is a good chance it's nothing, but if you love her, check with her vet. In the mean time, make sure she has lots of water nearby since throwing up can cause dehydration. And, cuddle and love on her, as always.

Are you CRAZY!!!!!!! Gid rid of the cat? See a freaking vet dumbass. I don't usually answer questions this way (angry). I can't believe you said get rid of it. There is something medically wrong with your cat. If you have had the cat for 5 years and you care anything at all about it, take it to the vet. Cats do not do well when they begin to vomit. They dehydrate quickly and can develop fatty liver disease. Hopefully you haven't waited too long.

You don't have to get rid of her. What are you feeding her? Maybe you could try something different with no dyes in it--I used to feed my cat Meow Mix and she had the same problem--switched to something else and now she's fine. If she keeps vomiting, take her to the vet.

That poor kitty! Please take her to a vet. Don't get a pet if you are not willing to give it the care it needs and deserves.
I cannot stand it when someone says "they want to get rid of" their pet as though they are talking about taking out the trash.
This is a living, breathing creature that feels PAIN just like we do!
