Im working 16 hours a week and my sons father, who im no longer with, is on benefits... will he still have to pay child support to me?

It really should not come down to who is working and who isn't it should always be both parents responsiblity to provide for their children even if it means that the parent on the lower income only contributes a small amount to cover things like socks underwear etc.

He IS going to have to pay child support per the court order even if he is receiving Public Benefits. And if he does NOT pay .. the Arrears will stack up, he will be charged interest on the outstanding balance, and yes, it will accumulate.

He will always have to pay child support until the child is 18 or unless he has full custody. Trust me I pay child Supoort.

I dont know what state you are in, but my ex owed me thousands in support and they finally after 18 years started taking it out of his social security check. A court order is a court order but he could take it back to court and ask for it to be reviewed and lowered.
