When I was at school, it wasn't the done thing to mix with kids in lower grades. He might like you a lot, but he can't take the chance of his class mates making fun of him for mixing with the kids in the lower grades. When you get older the difference of 1 year won't mean anything.

Heh, when I was that age I hated being around people in the lower grade just because I thought I was better.
It just may be a pride thing but there's a chance he could like you.

Get over him. He doesn't give you the respect you deserve. If he's mean to you at all to his friends, he's probably only nice to your face because he's a kiss-up or hates confrontation. Either get to know him (and let him get to know you) or forget about him. Some teenage guys also show they like you by being total *******, so that could be the case too.

I am in 8th grade to and to be honest I think the chances of him likeing you are extremly high!! He may just say he hates you cuz he is to shy to let you know how he feels. try to talk to him more often to get to know him more:)

Okay sweetie I am sorry to tell you this but he is probably just one of those guys that likes to flirt but if something else like that happens or if he acknowledges you in front of his friends then go for it but until then you have to consider that he just likes to talk girls.
