They dont ONLY care about looks, it's just the first thing that attracts them to women. Be honest, isn't the first thing you notice about a guy HIS looks? I may be superficial, but I'm 45 and it has always been the first thing that attracts me to a man. I had a male friend for 20 years who I wasnt attracted to at all. Over the years we kept contact, long distance, talking about our lives, our families, our marriages. Nothing but friendship. Then we were both single at the same time and he made a move. I just wasnt interested in him that way. Later one of my friends saw his picture and asked why I had never dated him. When I took a good look at the picture I couldnt answer, he really was good looking but I didnt see it! So, it's both ways. I guess this isn't a very good answer is it?

You have to be physically attracted to someone that you want to be with. You could ask the same question about women, why are the attracted to guy with "bad boy" image? The good thing is not all people are that way, looks were not what got my attention from my now ex-wife, it was her personality, her drive to succeed in life, her pride as a single mother to accept no help from government. She was not in any way what you would call ugly but not the most beautiful either. I was her passion.

Some guys are immature. Most women wont even get a chance because they don't look good enough and they may have great personalities. I guess the guys lose out, but it still sucks for women that want to be in relationships.

Sorry to lay it on ya kid, but most people in general only care about looks when it comes to attraction. Try not to think of it as shallow but as the way People are able to size up suitable mates. Looks first, then if the personailty is in place, she's keeper. Looks are only important as first, it's like getting your foot in the door.

There are some who aren't so shallow. . .you can't always judge a book by it's cover. Maybe I'm from another planet or something, I dunno, but to me qualities of the heart and mind are more important. To me a thoughtful, sweet, caring and affectionate person, aware of who she is as a person and aware of the world around her are a LOT more important than looks anyday. .and that's MY definiton of beauty.

because that is how we operate it is all looks first then personality later. occasionally it goes the the opposite way.
