On the one hand. Say half the time he is loving, considerate, sexy, funny and he makes my heart race even after 3 years. The other half he is telling me i'm doing things wrong. Little things turn into huge problems. he says things like 'i love you more than you love yourself'. I'll give you an example, i was quiet for 5 mins, and I apologised, i try and tell him what was wrong and he says it's too late, that i always do it, and i'm the reason why we cant share anymore, 'your the only one to blame for us not being close'. He blames me now for him not moving out of his parents. sometimes this goes on for days. and then he gives me a gift made of platinum, because it will last forever like us. and he tells me what made him fall in love with me, what i do for him, says i'm wonderful, unselfish, sweet and he never stops falling for me. i was abused before, but he is having more of an affect on me because i'm in love with him. when we met i was an independent woman, i love him totally now.

He sounds like a jerk.
It'll work out 1/2 the time.
You are with another abusive man.
He may be described as having a dual personality -- he is either charming or exceptionally cruel. He is selfish or generous depending on his mood.
His sense of masculinity depends on the woman's dependency upon him. He feels like a man only if his partner is totally submissive and dependent on him.
He expects her to behave according to his expectations of what a wife should be like; often the way his parents' marriage was, or its opposite.

He sounds like he's got problems to me and trying to blame them on you. Getting all the gifts in the world do not make it OK or take away the hurt from the way he is treating you. Being nice half the time is not acceptable. your either nice or your not, its not a part time thing. Why in god's name is he with his parents, how old is he? I think you better go back to being independent, he does not sound like anyone I would want to depend on.

You are right to be concerned. Please get out now. He is controlling you and he sounds very manipulative. The sooner, the better because it gets harder and harder as time goes on. If you stay with him, you will eventually end up not knowing what pleases you, what you like and want because it will all be about him.
You could go out of your way to try and please him. What is wrong with silence? Only 5 minutes? Am I understanding you right? There is absolutely no need to apologize for being quite for a while especially if you plan on spending your life with someone.
Sure it can work out if you bend you will to his. What kind of relationship is that?

hmm.... he definatly has some personality issues..... there are poeple in the word that like to live and do things exactly the way they do it and want everybody else to do exactly like he/she does...... Im one of them ... kinda but more considerate...... but i think that if his reasons are not suficient to the things he gets pist off at than that's not good. "your the reason why he can't share anything anymore" <-- That's pathetic and really mean.... if you don't mind that treatment and feel that it's not serious then it might work out... but if you personally don't like it, then maybe you should consider other options..... Or if he continues his behaviour and opinion the he might leave you... because "you always do" things wrong....or he might get really obsessed with you and posibly abuse you just because you are not doing things the way he likes it...... EXAMPLE: Movie called "Sleeping with the Enemy" - with Julia Roberts.... so be careful

By virtue of the fact that you are turning to this forum for answers would suggest that NO this relationship won't work out.
You aren't happy, that's clear, and you posted this question to reinforce your feelings.
You should find your strength and independence, tell him that it's over and he can't make you feel this way for loving him anymore and move on.
Good luck with that.

Oh Sweetie it you've been abused before then you know the pattern. The tension, emotional, and verbal abuse escalate until you just about can't take it anymore and then it stops and the honeymoon period starts. You haven't said he's hit you, but, you know it's coming as much as I do. I know you love him, but, do you want to live this life again? The decision is of course yours, but, I certainly hope you make the right one. Good luck.

It sounds to me like he is a verbal abuser, be careful when they start blaming you for everything and make you feel like you have no self estem. That is the first signs of abuse and it could become physical if you give in to many times.
I think you would be better off finding someone else. He needs to grow up.

You need to gain a back bone and tell him to kiss off. He sounds like a jerk who likes to play mind games. That's called emotional abuse. Abuse is abuse. You need to get back to the place where you were independent, because, I'm sure that girl wouldn't let some idiot treat her the way he's treating you.

He sounds mentally controlling to me.
He needs to stop placing blame on you for his failures.
Dont fall for this hun. He knows your weakness and is using it because of your past.
If you love him, talk to him and see if he will change and stop doing this.
If he refuses to see what he is doing to you, get the heck outta dodge and find another man who isnt controlling like he is.
Good luck hun and best wishes.
