Any SSRI (and Prozac is an SSRI) can cause some of the symptoms you're talking about. There is a chance that these side effects will lessen with time but it's more likely that you're on the wrong medication.
Unless you're in a geographic location without one, you need to see a Psychiatrist rather than a GP. I'm going to take a guess and say that a different class of drugs altogether is what they'll suggest. Don't waste any time, Psychiatric Disorders can get worse fast. If you feel suicidal or like you might hurt someone go to the emergency room.
The good news is that when you do find the right drugs you're going to feel a whole lot better!

I do not know if what you are experiencing is normal as this is subjective - different on an individual by individual basis.
However, if these mood swings are causing you a great deal of distress and you are concerned about them, you should contact your physician to discuss these symptoms. They may or may not be related to the change in your medication, but he/she will be best able to assist you with this determination.
You may want to read the information located on WebMD about Prozac. On their "Warnings" page are some things that you should watch for when on Prozac. It contains some of the things you talked about, but only a medical professional can actually make the determination if this is what is happening or not.

Watch out!!! There is recent evidence that some people, usually young people, who have suicidal ideations when they are on SRI anti depressants such as Prozac and several others. You truly need to be reevaluated by your Private MD. He may not be to well versed on these meds, and may be prescribing them without a very good appreciation for their side effects. I am not knocking him personally, but I know this situation exists in the medical profession and it seems that you should be under the care of someone who knows these meds and their side effects better then your current provider seems too. Please look into this as there are now so many more of this class of medicines out there, and some others might be better for your personal situation. You may even need to be placed on a combination of drugs that would better deal with the more protracted aspects of your current medical problems. Finally, some of what needs to be accomplished by you may not only be susceptible to medication, but some psychotherapy might be in order as well. Check into it as there has been a wealth of new understanding for your kind of medical problems recently. Good luck whatever happens...

Asalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, I get them all the time. Take a deep breath and remember Allah swt, wait 10 seconds with my eyes clothes or looking down then walk away if I am angry. I am sooo tired or crying over stuff so I had to toughen myself up and hold back my tears only for my creator to see. Mood swings, well that will pass but its all in the way you handle it. Inshallah you will swing back into your good mood. wish you well salam

actually yeah the same thing happened to me when i first started prozoac. If you start feeling really bad, then go to the E.R., but otherwise I would tell you to just try and chill and wait for your appointment or call in for a sooner appointment for sure since you've already been waiting for weeks already.

Why was your dose increased? I suggest you get in contact with that psychiatrist NOW. Never let a g.p. do anything with drugs you get for disorders, they haven't a clue what the heck they are doing.
