one of my friends has become kinda slow and forgets a lot of things and mentions the same things over and over. He has had concussions in the past from football and when he does something dumb or is being slow in the head he always says hey ive had a lot of concussions so dont screw with me. are these signs of a concussion prone kid or is he faking it. He had one like in aug, then like mid to late sep, then one at the end of oct, all from football then i think he had a small one on new years day from snowmobiling so are these some aftereffects on him, and will they go away after a bit.

I am outraged to hear this. Who h coach? Who are his parents? yshould be locked up! This is ABUSE.

YES, concussion have very damaging affects, the evidence is there by your descriptions, and they are even worse. He can easily suffer a stroke and die too.

I suggest you do something. Talk to his parents, talk to the principal and even talk to the media (anonymously if you wish). This sickens me that adults would allow this to happen over some stupid football game.

he's not faking.mild to severe brain damage can occur, depending on the severity/frequency of injuries.also, personality changes and depression may occur.epilepsy is another possible result.if these changes havent gone away by now, they likely never will.frequent head trauma is also a cause of parkinsons when older-as in boxer muhammed ali, elderly boxers often suffer neurological problems as they age because of the head trauma they received .one of my patients was a dr who supported his way thru med school in the 1940's by boxing.go easy on ur friend,he needs it. ps-ur friend needs a thorough neurological work-up,and switching to a less dangerous sport is advised !
