Is this an Australian Passport?? If it is you can visit the Passport Office and you pay an extra $75 on top of the normal fee and it becomes AN EXPRESS SERVICE, THIS TAKES 2 WORKING DAYS FOR YOUR PASSPORT TO BE DONE. All you need to do then is go back to the office and pick it up in 2 days time. Its great. I am going to bangkok now in 1 weeks time and i never had an Australian passport. I paniced too cos I decided to go on holidays 2 weeks noticed and YEs it was done so quickly.

Expedited Service
Cost, in addition to regular application fees, is $60 per application plus overnight delivery costs.
Two-way overnight delivery is strongly suggested.
If you mail in - clearly mark Expedited on the envelope.
Anyone may request expedited service for any type of application (e.g., first-time applications, renewals, amendments of existing passports, etc.) See:
How do I change my name on my passport?
How to add extra visa pages to my passport?
How do I apply to renew my passport?
Passport applications sent together or at the same time do not necessarily remain together.
Passports will be mailed separately.
After you apply - You will receive your passport:Ordinarily, if you paid additionally for expedited service and two-way overnight delivery within about 2 weeks
POST OFFICE AS WELL.

I'm assuming you're a US citizen, otherwise I have no idea.
Check the website referenced below. It cost 67 for the application and another $60 to expedite (rush) it, which will get in two weeks or so. Be sure to let the passport agency know when you are traveling and supply them a copy of your travel documents to prove the need for expedited service.

Yep.
Go online
http://travel.state.gov/passport/forms/forms_847.html
fill out the app., take your old passport and the fee to the post office and pay for an "expedited passport" (it's about $160 instead of the normal $97) plus overnight delivery postage and you should have it back in 2 weeks.
