Contact your local law enforcment and ask them what is legal to carry in your area.
Honestly your best bet is to find out your local laws and if possible carry a fire-arm of a caliber you can effectively and reliably shoot well.
Spend the time and money to buy and GET GOOD TRAINING in the use of a personal fire-arm.
It is simply the best personal protection available.
Understand and obey all laws and attempt any non-lethal measures first. Not being there is is best way to win a gun-fight
But the ability and confidence to apply lethal force is your best defence.
This especially applies to women or the physically weak or disabled

you can carry mace or a taser gun. there is a civilian model for the taser coming out soon. it has slightly less power than the police version but is just as effective. a batan can be carried, but the use of it may get you into a world of trouble as it can be a lethal weapon. If the situation requires lethal force, you'd be ok.. or if you've been trained to use it properly so as not to inflict serious bodily injury against a non lethal attack. you cannot carry any of these on government property or of course in airports.

in the adventure that they do ban using tazers and stun guns from the police it does no longer be via deaths. imagine about it, authentic guns are a lot extra "awful." the reason that tazers and stun guns will be banned are because police officials are utilizing them at the same time as they could have not in any respect used stress earlier. at the same time as police officials had in user-friendly words deadly guns they had to detain human beings contained in the traditional way. Now at the same time as human beings coach the slightest resistance, regulation Enforcement officials will use tazers with the mind-set that no longer some thing undesirable will happen at the same time as they use them. for this reason tazers were over-used, and utilized in circumstances that did not warrant their use. notwithstanding that is authentic, I beleive that tazers ought to no longer be banned, as they do extra strong then undesirable. i might want to somewhat have someone "Tazered" than shot by technique of twist of destiny.
