I work for the March of Dimes, and contrary to what's being posted, the MOD takes a neutral stance on that subject. We're about making sure babies are born healthy, and born a full nine months into the pregnancy.

March of Dimes helps pregnant women get proper pre-natal care and always reminds women to take lots of folic acid to prevent spinal cord malformations. I give money to them, but beyond what I just told you, I could not verify or deny whether they support abortions. I would assume they don't, but I will go see on their site.
EDIT:
"MOD policy states that abortion is not the solution to the problem of birth defects. The MOD has long maintained its neutrality on the issue of abortion. All grantees and contractors regardless of their personal opinions are prohibited from using MOD funds for abortion research, to pay for abortions, or to give directive advice concerning abortions. Fetal tissue research does not violate this policy if applicable federal regulations are adhered to. A non-directive referral for counseling, if requested by a patient in the course of prenatal care, does not violate this policy. Violation of this policy constitutes grounds for immediate cancellation of a grant or termination of a cooperative agreement."

The March of Dimes' famous advertisement reads, "Give to the March of Dimes. Help prevent birth defects."
The not-so-secret truth is that the organization has embraced abortion as one means to accomplish their objective.
Their slogan might be "Give to the March of Dimes. Help prevent babies from being born with birth defects."

I think it is your friends who are misinformed, not you. Its my understanding the March of Dimes supports life at any cost (which I am not altogether a supporter of either).

I'm not opposed but some Catholics don't think it's right to flush babies down the toilet, which is exactly what happens to aborted fetuses. A nurse friend told me they don't wait until the fetuses are properly dead, they are disposed of immediately.

I think that you need to rethink your position, with these people, some people, just hate the poor, and also blame them for their own demise, yet set laws against them, to keep them poorer, in affect stealing the souls of men, and study the word of God. Please read this top site.
