Dear people of America,
I am on my school's Debate Team and our topic for this year is national service programs. I was wondering if anyone has served in the Armed Services, Learn and Serve America, Peace Corps, Citizen Corps, Senior Corps, Americorps, or any other national volunteer program. Please specify for how long you served, and which program(s) you served in.

I served in the Peace Corps for two years, 1971 - 1972. I taught English in Malaysia.

Well, with 3 kids I dont have time to volunteer BUT my husband is in the ARMY. He is a Veteran 2 times over and returned home from a 2 year tour in Iraq in Dec. of 2005.

I am not or have not been in service. But my hubby is an Army Vet and he has just gone back into service as a Sgt. in the Army National Guard Reserves.
