I am having surgery on monday, a little nervous about it. Has anyone out there had this done....and what is it like when you wake up from surgery?

My friend had it done on Friday and was back to work on Monday. She had a sit down job tho..but she said it was a piece of cake.

I had one several years ago and I can honestly say, it was so darn uneventful, the next day or two, I was doing great. Waking up from surgery takes an hour or so, and you are groggy, but soon you will feel quite relaxed. Very little discomfort and If I recall now, I think all it took was a tylonal for a day or so. Piece of cake!

My wife went into the hosp. at 7:30 AM and was home by noon. She stayed in bed the rest of that day. And did require some pain pills for about 3 days. she was pretty well recovered in two weeks.
The only complication she had was a little infection around her belly button but that was soon cleared up with antibiotics.
You should have nothing to fear and you should do fine if you are healthy.

Hi I had this surgery done and was feeling fine within a week but don't overdo if you do heavy lifting on your job,perhaps another weeks rest just to be sure. when you wake from surgery you;ll feel groggy and sore and probabley cold, just ask , and they cover you with warm blankets, if your a smoker you may vomit ,most do after surgery. I'll also give you a tip, you may not be able to tolerate eating peanuts anymore as they tend to make you feel ill after. and cabbage to. But you system just may be able to deal with it.
