He is my university professor, 32 years old, single and i am 21. we have been known each other for some time and been exchanging emails. I asked if he can give me his phone number, he looked embarassed, seems donno what to say..i asked him if it is inappropriate, he said he is not allowed and lets talk about it later...Few days agoi sent him another email asking him out for lunch, and he replied saying that I am a lovely young woman and he enjoys talking with me when i visit his office, but for several reasons he needs for our relationship to remain professional... I understand and i respect his professional attitude, coz i still take course in his faculty, and i won't make movement because of his position, but i am still wondering if the feeling is mutual

he's 32, you're 21, that's you in the avatar, trust me the feeling is mutual! If you are really serious about persuing any type of relationship, you should switch schools asap. The best thing to do is tell him that's how serious you are before doing so. If he says he doesn't think that's a good idea, then you know where you stand. If he says that sounds like a great idea, he is head over heels for you.

I have a great deal of respect for him since he wants to keep it professional for now, you should too.

good luck you little hottie!

Your professor is telling you that he could loose his career if he meets with you. He wants to keep the relationship on a professional manor and you should heed his advice.

Leave hlim alone! He is behaving very correct, everything else makes him troubles and can destroy his career! Search somewhere else for a friend, and honor your professor for his appropreate behavior. It saves you troubles as well!

He sounds like he likes you but he will risk losing his job and reputation if he dates you. If you're REALLY that into him, you could transfer to another school and see how it works. Or just date other guys and once you've graduated check back in with him.

This question was asked a while ago and I was one of those who answered it!
My answer was to leave the man alone, you can destroy his career, professors and teachers are not allowed to have personal relationships with students. You can have a relationship with him after you graduate and leave college.

Leave him alone!!!! He is a professional who does not want to compromise his credentials. Stop and think about it. He is probably approached by many a pretty hot young thing and he is trying to remain professional. You need to grow up and understand his position, and why he doesn't want to mess with you. he's told you in plain English that your relationship should remain professional and you ask , Hmmm is his feeling for me mutual???? give us and him a break. and leave him alone.

He clearly cares a lot about his job and doesn't want to jeopardize it but fraternizing with the students...

wait till he's not your professor anymore and then see how things go...

doesn't matter, if he is a full professor, then he won't get fired because he has Tenure, meaning that he can't ever get fired. Lol I learned that in Economics,
