I am a pharmacist and I get this question all the time. Motrin (aka Advil,or ibuprofen) is in the same drug class as Aleve (aka Naproxen Sodium). They are known as NSAIDs. You should not take both but pick one or the other. It is people specific if one works better than the other. Motrin is 200 to 400 mg daily and Aleve is 225 to 550 mg every 6 to 8 hrs. Aleve works better for me personally. Pick one or the other...not both.

I would suggest you can take 2 Motrin with aleve. Make sure you only take it every 4 to 6 hours.
