You have little cells in your body called mast cells. They release histamine which binds to receptors in your body that causes certain reactions....itchy rash, watery eyes, coughing and sneezing. All these are known as allergies. People are allergic to either dust or dust mites. Dust can elicit the allergy sneeze reaction or just by stimulation of the nose. This stimulation basicly makes you sneeze so you wont inhale something your body does not want.

Dust makes you sneeze because the tiny particles land on the mucus membrane in your nose. Nerves on the membrane get irritated by it, which makes you feel that tickle in your nose. The tickle then causes you to sneeze, blowing the dust back out of your nose. You don't have to be allergic to dust for it to make you sneeze. It's completely normal to sneeze when there is a lot of dust in the air.
