Dinosaur BBQ in Harlem is #1 both in price, quality, taste and selection. They have some great combos for around $15 and a beer sampler for $6. It is only a couple blocks from the 1 train at 125th st. Here is a link:

I can't speak for NYC, but if you get up to Syracuse, Dinosaur BBQ is the best. They play blues music also, which just goes with BBQ. I have also found that Volunteer firemen will have chicken BBQs on weekends at their firehouses to raise money for equipment and such. They do a really good job too.

there's one in manhattan around 23rd street area...can't remember exactly where, but i know how to get there, there's also one in the village and one on Flatbush extension downtown Brooklyn. You should really try their catfish.
