IE 7 versus Firefox 2.0
There has been a lot of fuss in the online community about Firefox being better then IE7. I went through a lot of articles on Firefox 2.0 features and found that almost all the features that Firefox boasts of are present in IE7. Still the online community is shouting that IE7 is not better then Firefox and Firefox easily beats IE7 in many ways. Infact CNET has given this review for Firefox. Some of the common features that i found in both were:-

1: tabbed browsing/group of tabs saving/session restore in case of crash where all tabs with their sites are restored on next browser open

2: builtin anti phising protection

3: rss feeds

4: inbuilt search provider selection and addition of search providers of your choice.

Somethings that only Firefox boasts of are:-

1:inline spell check which are available as sidebar gadgets for Windows vista.

2: Suggested search terms from the search engine

3: Firefox is available for a variety of platforms like Windows/Mac/Linux

4:Live Titles which are basically Microsummaries which allow websites to stream updated data to your bookmarks

negatives about Firebox

1: It did not pass the Acid2 test designed by w3c organization

2: leaves a lot of files/directories/registries after you uninstall it

Overall i could not be satisfied abt how Firefox 2.0 is better then IE7. Let me know if somebody knows about this.

Firefox is way better. It has a few of its own problems, but nothing compared to IE 7

I've used both, and I know that Firefox has a lot of fanatical defenders. But I find it a pain in the neck to deal with. IE7's tabbed browser is the equal of Firefox IMO, and you don't need to be messing with a bunch of plugins - everything's there already.

I also find IE7 to render pages faster than FF. Try a complex page and watch FF bring the sections of the page in and then rearrange them for the next few seconds. And no, I'm not on an old slow machine, I'm at 2 GHz on a fast DSL line.

As far as security goes, I dunno. IE7 seems to properly question downloads and Active X's. If there are more vulnerabilities with IE7, I suspect it's only because more hackers are targeting it.

Hi. They both have their followers. I personally like Firefox 2.0, but IE 7 is good too. IE has more security issues because it's a bigger target.

Firefox, by far. It offers a huge selection of add-ons like free adblock utility, more customization, faster interface, safer from online scripts and more hip.

IE7 is slow and flawed. It already has a number of vulnerabilities with it, and it's only a few months old. Plus, it is very unstable. But you can use it for some sites that are for IE only, like Windows Update.

i presumed i became the final individual on dial-up as quickly as we ultimately have been given intense speed a year or so in the past. i got here across that Mozilla's Firefox became drastically swifter than IE, and that i ran the two, in specific circumstances on an identical time. (i flow to a minimum of one internet site that may no longer Firefox friendly.) i got here across IE7 became surely slower on a dial-up connection than IE6. It takes some 0.5 hour to acquire Firefox on a dial-up connection, then a couple of minutes to place in. you do no longer could sign up or provide them your call, digital mail, or the rest. They in no way deliver you something in any respect. The AdBlock extension will better speed you on line, with the aid of fact it blocks many demonstrate classified ads thoroughly so which you do no longer could look ahead to them to open. It won't do your computing gadget any harm to have the two browsers on it, yet i prefer to propose Firefox for on a regular basis use.

IE is very much user friendly and integrated very well with Windows. Used by most of the people.

Firefox is also equally good.

Since IE is used by most of the people, most of the web crackers looks for IE. But Microsoft is improving a lot related to their security holes in IE. Often you can download the security patch to keep your system safe and up to date.
