i'm here, typing this answer to you right now- in new orleans.

yes, things are still very bad, but half of the population returned. most all of the tourist areas like the french quarter are up and running, but a lot of the residential neighborhoods (ninth ward, etc.) are still completely destroyed, without water and electric, etc.

at last count 200,000 people of the 420,000 original population had returned.

weather or not it's bad or good depends on your perception of things. optimist versus realist versus pessimist, ya know?

Considering all of comments about New Orleans and Katrina there still could only one place for me and that is the French Quarter.along with all the culture and food. Anything out of certain areas of New Orleans is not the great city it was. Rebuilding .What makes a city like unique luckly was not destored. Old Man River just keeps rolling along.

Yeah, there are people living in New Orleans. Quite a bit of it stayed quite dry during Katrina.

well i dont live in New Orleans but about 30 miles away but i had people that lived in st.benard and had 14 feet of water in their house. as of now i know that new orleans is trying to rebuild and a good bit is back in their houses and people are moving back everyday.

Yes, people still live here. People have moved back. Some parts are still pretty bad, but being worked on. Its getting better, were coming back! By the way, Douglas R, if you want to talk sh!t about this persons spelling, do it after you work on your grammar dear.

in in the new orleans area. (not from here though)

people are living in the city, but the most sparsely populated areas are the 9th ward and new orleans east. there are people living there, but not many.

some people live there it all depends where you are some parts are pretty bad but most of it is good like the French Quarter they are doing better then before

Learn how to spell there are still people in Georgia they want leave they are sucking are tax base dry.everybody needs to move to Georgia and get jobs and help us pay taxes for the people that want work and there lots of them.But before you move try to learn to spell.
