There's a girl I'm attracted to in my math class, and I have some reason to believe she's attracted to me also, but I can't be sure. I haven't really talked to her except for once, when I asked about a quiz. The reason for this is that we sit on completely opposite sides of the room.

I am thinking about coming up to her after class and just asking whether she'd like to either work on math together in the library sometime or have lunch together... I am not the most confident guy but I figure I've built up enough confidence to do this.

My question is whether this is okay to do? If you're the girl, and if a guy that you haven't spoke to much (but you might think he's cute) comes up to you after class and just says, "Hey, what's up? I was wonderin if you wanna work on this math stuff in the library sometime? Or we can grab lunch if you want. What do you think?" How would you react? Would it be strange for a guy to just be upfront like this, or is this a good display of confidence?

If the girl is interested, she would agree to you. What else could go wrong? Just chill and take the initiative to ask. You can walk away with an answer either favorable or unfavorable at least you get to know and wouldnt have to wonder anymore. If it was me, i would say yes. I think it is extremely cute! It is very rare for a guy to be willing to go to the library and homework. Dont rush the friendship. Wish you the best.

Yes this is okay. Just keep your confidence up. But I would ask her out for lunch instead. Keep your head up and you will do fine

Yes it is ok to do that and yes it does show confidence in yourself and is a big turn on for girls - guys who are self confident without being arrogant. Go for it -if she says no - then it's her loss.

i think the lunch idea is great! not too pushy, and a good chance to get to know her outside of class. If any guy had ever asked me to share lunch, I could not have refused :)

It wouldn't be strange for a guy to ask and it is a very good display of confidence. You'll never know till you ask her.

Just be yourself and go for it!

think about it this way..if you dont ask you will never know. Just let her know how you feel and the best way is to ask her. A cup of coffee or lunch will be a nice way to find out.

wow. yes. GO FOR IT. that would definately make him sexier in my eyes, mostly because i know he had to work up the confidence to say that. i might blush a bit and not know what to say after he asked, but i'd definitely love that he did that. good luck!

you're in the right direction, no other way than acting and being at least a bit confident. just add a caring tone to your voice when you ask.

If you did that I'd be like wow he is confident. You have nothing to lose but everything to gain.(Although try and talk to her another time or might be kinda awkward)~Good Luck
