no i don't it takes away from the tuna flavor

the only time I add cheese
is when I melt some cheese on an open faced tuna sandwich

NO ...to cheddar and Swiss or provolone cheeses....but yes to CREAMED CHEESE..with scallions mixed in. and a little mayonnaise little squeeze of lemon juice. It would taste best to me if you toasted the bread first and spread the "creamed cheese" then top it with lettuce and the tuna mixture.

I love tuna fish salad it's a great change!
