Bit gross this;
For the past two years or so I have been putting up with chronic pain in an area just left of my stomach and my groin. It comes in sharp stabs or dull aches. This sort of area, my left + lower stomach feels like a broken box. I can hardly eat, sometimes I'm sick, sometimes I throw bile. I go through diahorrea and constipation. Sometimes I can see food in my stools, like it's not been digested. I also have popping and groaning sounds and churning in my lower stomach and my very lower back. This drives me crazy, there's always popping and churning from there. I can't put on weight at all.
I've seen bloody doctors left right and centre but cus I have a 'history' they take one look at me and say the problem is psychiatric and I have depression or sum b0llcks, jus fob off, that was all years ago. It's really painful and I've had enough, can someone give me an idea as to what is wrong with me.

I don't mean to be personal butcan you tell me what the psychiatric diagnosis is? I will not make light of your complaint but it sounds like the docs are fobbing you off...they do this sometimes if you've had a psychiatric diagnosis...or you may be classed as a "thick file"...ie some one who makes regular appearances at the surgery........register at a new surgery and make it clear that you are feeling like you are being fobbed off. It's not normal to throw up spontaneously on a regular basis...I did it for years and believe me..normal it ain't. The sounds are probably quite normal but being ill you are more aware of them is all...but constant pain in that area is not normal.......nor is veering from diahorrea and contipation all the time if it's consistently like this. You may be suffering from diverticulitus...check this out on the web..if you are it needs to be monitered and diagnosed. Good luck.

Some parts of what you have described sound like IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Unfortunately you will have to see yet another Doctor in order to diagnose this. As awful as this is going to sound, may I suggest that you bring in the specimen which you have described, in plastic baggies, to your Doctor? One for bile, one for when you can see whole pieces of food in your stool.
While I understand Doctors thinking that "you have a history" no one really knows your body, but yourself. Please don't be discouraged with the Doctors. We've all, as unfortunate as it is, have been through this.
May I even suggest that you go to a different Doctor (a Gastronenterologist) in another city/town who does not know your background and just start off fresh.
All my best to you. I'll keep you in my prayers.
Have a lovely rest of the evening. I hope that you get well soon.

abdo pain and a change in bowel habit could be a number of conditions. IBS is very much a physical complaint with a very emotional element and you may have been given this label due to your psychiatric history. i would ask to see another doctor or have tests done privately if you can afford them. possible investigations would include full blood sreening, abdo x-ray or ultrasound, barium investigations which look at detailed x-rays of the bowel after injesting barium of having a barium enema ( not as horrendous as it sounds!), endoscopy or colonoscopy which involved actually passing a camera into the digestive tract, or a laparoscopy which is a surgical procedure involving a small keyhole incision to look at all the organs withinin the abdomen. i would not at this time even begin to start diagnosing you as that could be very dangerous. i think you need to seek further medical advice

The doctors dont seem worried, sound like you could have ibs (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) This is becoming very common. Try so cut down on foods which give you wind and try eating more fibre, it will not cure it but may help when you have got it into your system and got used to it. Look up IBS on the internet for more advise.

It could be irritable bowel syndrome. Go to another doctor, they shouldn't fob you off because you had a psychiatric problem. This needs to be investigated to put your mind at rest. Stress can make conditions like this worse so try not to worry. Hope you get it sorted out.

They have probably put it down to irritable bowel syndrome, which unfortunately it very well could be (which means there is no physical reason for it). Otherwise you could have an internal bleed (I had that years ago and it caused similar symptons). The only way to find out is to insist that your GP gives you a laparoscomy (check on spelling) where they shove a camera down your throat.

get you GP to refer to the following
1= a gastro doc who deals with bowels.
2=dietitian. to go over your diet.
what your eating could cause some of the pain,where yur bowels and intestine's are not working. food does not get properly digested 'cause the of the ezemyes in your stomach are all out of sync. which can cause all the things that you mentioned.it can also affect your blood. i have uclerative colitis and chrons. so when it comes to bowels i know what i'm talking about.
get to a gastro doc and have your bowels and intestines looked at. get your bloods done,see a dietitian to look at your diet. see a doc who deals with food allergies as well. you say you have depression also get your drugs checked as well they may be causing your upsets as well. do not give up,keep pushing the nhs until you know what it is. good luck.
