Sometimes I feel like I am the only woman in the world who is scared of the word 'love'. I have only said it to one man, the man who I planned to marry at the time. Orther than that - it is only for family & closest friends.

I know people who have been in relationships for two days and are already saying "I love you". Am I the only person who finds this fast & immature? Does anyone agree that saying 'love' should be reserved for those who you truly mean it?

i agree, you shouldn't say "I love you" to someone unless you really, truly mean it.

I've only said the words ''i love you'' to one person in this world ''my first love''...I was brought up without ever hearing those words being said...don't get me wrong, there was and is alot of love within my family...we just know it..never needed to say it.

Yeah i know a lot of teens who the first day go out say i love you, And i dont understand it. Love takes times to grow.To mean something. For me, Love is scary also because it takes a lot of courage to love someone,Because I always think of getting heartbroken.
"Love is giving one the ability/power to hurt you, but trusting them no too"

I believe people scared of the "L" word, are to concentrated on after. When you love someone they become your everything, to me those who are scared of love, are more petrified with the thought that maybe one day, someday they will leave, and your left with nothing. Scared with the thought that one day that love may be gone, when your already used to love being there with you, two people, and how will you adapt to a new lifestyle without one you loved.

oh and about teens saying i love you" first days is not exactly immature, theyre just not ready for real life/love, its all fairy tales. Or they just want to expierence love. But they cant spot the difference of love and lust

love should only be scary if you dont love the person your saying to. In that case you should not be saying it anyways.

yep. it is immature. and well, with me, im afraid of falling in love again. it happened before because i was too careless to look ahead, and i ****** it all up majorly. now i am attempting to move on, and now afraid of becoming emotionally attached to anyone in any way, shape, or form. i dont wanna get hurt again...

There was a time when it took people two years to get to that stage. So, what happened? You tell me.

Trust me, it could be worse. Hell, I'm afraid of using it on my family. I'm just incapable of saying it without cringing.

It sounds like you're being rational and cautious, rather than scared, to me. Kudos on having a head on your shoulders.
