Scientists don't ignore the envirnoment. They have been TRYING to warn us since the 1970's. All the weird extreme weather we are seeing now was predicted back then. The question is why are our politicians and conservative talk radio pundits denying that humans are contributing to environmental change. And the answer is money. The corporations that profit the most by being allowed to pollute support people like Rush Limbaugh and his anti environment rhetoric.
What is interesting is that Bush admitted that climate change is a problem we have to act to solve in his state of the union address last week. I wonder if Rush Limbaugh fans will notice the "flip flop" and if they do will they realize that they have been lied to by Rush and the conservatives.

Some scientists like you said are ignoring the environmental concerns and say the climatic change as a normal phenomena.
These scientist are making people to think that nothing will happen if there is climatic change in the world. They should stop their campaining and help the environmental organisations to save the world from extinction.
On the other hand ,Government will not be able to completely implement the policies for nurturing the environment and save it from destruction.Developing countries are not able to implement
because of their growing economy and they don't want to cap the industrial growth of thier country.
Developed nations don't want to give up their competition in the long run for the first place in the economical growth.
It is the duty of the public people to realise the problem and act
according to it as soon as possible.

I don't worry about scientists, and it will be technologists who have to deal with the problems as they arise.
I don't particularly worry about politicians, because they talk a lot but do not provide the solutions to the problems.
The REAL problem is that of unregulated global economics and the free-market system, which has no conscience at all, as it drives towards unfettered, high-volume, low-qaulity consumerism; riding on a tide of cheap labour and cheap oil.
Behind that neo-liberal economic globalised drive, are the people who believe that monetarism brings limitless benefits, but should the cycle be broken by an increase in oil prices to unprecedented levels, or materials running short for whatever reason, the whole system would melt down just as surely as if there was global revolution, strikes or left-wing extremism.
The short answer is, no-one has yet come up with a alternative to the status-quo, and even if they did, it would be deemed revolutionary by those who most influence global affairs......the multi-nationals, banking corporations and major investors.

I also do not agree that scientists ignore the issues as they are the ones coming up with new solutions & useful information. But on the other hand the goverment is the one that will not fund different projects or studies..They seem to just want to sit back & ignore the problems they think maybe the next generation will fix it..

It is the politicians who introduce laws and the bureaucrats who implement the rules and regulations ignore, deviate for materialistic reasons.
On the other hand, the scientists discover the problems and provide solutions to those concerns.
Generally, every state face the problem in implementing the rules and penalising the polluter.

They are mostly concerned by short term financial considerations and how to keep the population quiet and in order. Unfortunately there isn't enough awareness in the public to put enough pressure on them to act.
