For the dogs sake, I hope she's not pregnant. Dog's are not fully develped, until they are 2 years old. It's safer, especially for a small dog, like a Chihuahua, to wait, at least until then to breed. Chihuahua's are prone to having complications during birth because they are so small, some do ok. She's still a baby, and it's going to be extra hard on her little body. Dog's are pregnant for 63 days. There is so much information on breeding dogs, that it's impossible to put it all down on here. I would strongly suggest, that you take that little girl, poor baby, to the vet ASAP, to have her examined. Have the vet offer you some options on what you can do, and what would be the safest option, for the puppy. Feed her a highly nutritious puppy food while she's pregnant. Puppy food has more nutrients in it. Ask your veterinarian to recommend the right brand for your puppy. For the sake of the puppy, don't put off taking her to the vet. I hope for the puppy's welfare, that she is not pregnant, but if she is, I hope everything goes well, and she get's through it ok. You will probably, need the vet's help with her pregnancy and delivery of the puppies, if she is pregnant. You can do a Google search" ChihuahuaLoving.com", and they have all the information, in detail, about everything that has to do with breeding. I hope this helps a little, and I sure hope everything goes smoothly for your little girl. Good Luck! Please let us know how everything turns out!

I would wait, and see if she does have puppies, and if she doesn't, I would get another Chihuahua, to keep her company, and so she can have someone to play with. They get along better with their own breed. I have Chihuahuas too, and I would just like to tell you, what my veterinarian told me. Never leave a Chihuahua or real small breed dog, outside alone and without supervision. Alway's keep them inside, when you are not home. There has been problems with predators. For example, birds like Eagles, Hawks, Falcons, Owls and Vultures, can very easily swoop down, grab the dog and take off with it. It has happened! You also have ground predators. I always take mine with me when I go out, and people don't seem to mind it, because they are so small. If there is a way, you can take her with you too, she won't be as lonely, at least until she gets another playmate to keep her company. Give her lot's of love and attention. Good Luck if Princess has babies. I hope everything goes well, and I'm really sorry you lost Baby.

You can safely have her spayed during the first three weeks of pregnancy. This is by far the safest course for her own health. She is much too young to have and care for babies, as the puppies will use the nutrients that she needs to keep building her own body.. She would be most likely to have arthritis and other bone problems as she gets older.
It the male is larger then she is, she will likely need a C-section, which is VERY expensive..and you wold be stuck hand-feeding the puppies until she was healed enough to feed them herself. (they need fed every 2 hours, day and night)
Please make an appointment to have her spayed before the three weeks are up..This is the very best way to express your love for her.
Yes, it is the time AFTER the bleeding stops that females can be bred, and if they mated, she is certain to be pregnant..It is like a 10 or 11 year old child being pregnant..Not safe at all!
I was a Chihuahua breeder for many years.

Yeah, take her to the vet. They have tests sthey can run and tell you for sure. Then the vet can advise you on what to do for your specific animal. Some very small dog have problems having puppies that are too big and hurt the mom.

yes a dog this young CAN get pregnant - even though she is a puppy herself. Please talk to your vet. They can help you know what to do now and when the babies are born. And then, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE have both/all of your dogs spayed and neutered!

Yes, your chihuahua is defanatly pregnet & no there is nothing you can do about it. She will probally have them in two to three weeks and she should have about three or four babies. Best pf luck...Oh and make sure you have her checked out in the next week to make sure her babys are healthy.
