When we let our Cairn Terrier outside (fenced yard) to do her job, she turns around and barks hysterically and spins in circles and keeps barking for at least 2-3 minutes. I've tried to just shut the patio door and walk away, I've told her NO BARK! I've even chased her with a broom one time on a day when my patience was not good. Any suggestions on how to stop this annoying habit would be appreciated. I think she wants me to come out and throw her tennis ball (just a guess) but I obviously cannot do this everytime she is let out. fyi - I make her sit before each and every time she goes out.

She has a lot of excess energy and needs to let it out. Since she souldns like a house dog she is probably not getting enough exersize. Keep her out side more often. I had Cairn Terrier too they ware out quickly but need about 10-15 min every few hours to make them calm submissive and not spazing.
