my friend ,one thing you do not want to do or attemp to do , and that is to split hairs with a judge over wrong citation number,,,
when you go to court,, be dressed neatly, hair combed clean shaven, unless you have a neatly trimed beard,,,, you approach the judge with respect,, do not have an attidue , or a chip on your shoulder, because you will loose. that is half of your battle.. believe me...
good luck

Yes. Ask for a hearing. Let the police officer testify. Show your copy of the citation to the judge and ask for dismissal on the grounds the police officer wrote one thing and testified to another.
I once beat a traffic ticket because the police officer wrote down September 1 instead of September 7. The judge decided the carbon paper was flawed and dismissed the charge.

Just pay the fine and ask for supervision and dont get pulled over for the next year. Something as petty as a wrong code is not evidence enough for a judge to dismiss a ticket, the officer wrote on the ticket what you did wrong. I have seen many judges get upset at people for trying to say the cop was wrong, it may not be worth it. Traffic judges are often bitter and hate their position and all they want to do is screw people.

If, in fact, the officer did put down the wrong violation code, the Judge has no alternative but to dismiss the ticket.

the incorrect race on the citation won't void the citation. I even have issued citations to a number of people and had no theory what race they have been. I only went with despite grew to become into on the drivers license. additionally, in NC (and probable maximum different States) social protection numbers are no longer required information for a rushing cost ticket. I by no skill ask for it on minor violations via fact this isn't any longer substantial and that i do no longer think of maximum individuals might want it floating around obtainable on a rushing cost ticket. the two way you ought to deal inclusive of your cost ticket some way or yet another (the two pay it off or circulate to courtroom and function it disposed of in courtroom) via fact in case you do no longer your license would be suspended and an Order for Arrest would be issued for you. NC regulation Officer.

It's a possibility, although judges are not as prone now as they used to be to dismiss a ticket that has errors on it. If the cop is not there to testify, you're home free.

nope. The ticket is merely your receipt and notification of violation. The officer will present the states case and it is his testimony, not the ticket, which will convict you. He can even ammend the ticket, make notes etc after you depart the traffic stop.

The judge would correct the document and tell you what your fine is.
