and are called according to his purpose. Just want it looks like, we are all called to God, and his purposes. Most people just won't take the time to see it. But God calls us daily to himself, and he has a purpose for our life....he does, no matter how many people will deny it. I was called, according to God's purpose, when I was a late teen, and both my parents, plus my younger brother, died. I was called to God, acoording to his purpose, which he has for me. I was called to be a Christian, because that was God's purpose.
God's purpose is christianity. HIS PURPOSE. "and are called, according to his purpose (to his salvation)" God died for us, and that is his purpose, for us to see that, and accept his gift of a blood offering willingly.
I hope I answered the question :-)
God bless

To the Calvinist, this is can be read at face value since "called according to his purpose" is simply Paul's way of identifying Christians. God is the author and finisher of salvation, predestining and effectually calling His own unto Himself, "Those who love the Lord" are the same people as those who are called. Christians can be assured of an ultimate good because of the relationship they have with the Lord. Arminians will say that Calvinism forces people to love him, and this verse refutes that, because the end result of God's choice as opposed to man's, is for an ultimate good.

Paul is talking to the spirit anointed Christan's of his day, different backgrounds, personality's, nationality's, and yet they all work together for the same purpose, to do Gods will.
God's will is to have the Good News of God's Kingdom spread to the entire inhabited earth as a witnesses, and then then end will come. Matthew 24:14
Time is running out.

If you do good things, good things will happen to you. Read the whole chapter. It will help clear things up. It goes more indepth in other versus then in this one. This one is sort of a summary for the rest of the chapter. Reading only this scripture could confuss anyone, without reading what was before and after it.

I have personally experienced what this verse means.
You know it's trusting God when things are difficult, when we are going through sorrows, trials and testings. I have been through stuff, very tough stuff, but I also know that God has worked all those things together for good for me. He has given me a future and a hope. Life is not promised to be a bed of roses, and it isn't for most people, but if we trust in God, give our lives to Him, then He will give us that future and hope. He works out everything for the good of those who belong to Him.
For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans for good and not for evil, plans to give you a future and a hope.

All the versions mean basically that God is so supremely in charge of the world that all the things that happen to Christians are ordered in such a way that they serve our good. Tribulation and distress and persecution and famine and nakedness and peril and sword all work together for the good of those who love God.
So the rugged hope of the believer is not that we will escape distress or peril or hunger or slaughter, but that Almighty God will make every one of our agonies an instrument of his mercy to do us good. "You meant it for evil," Joseph said to his brothers who had sold him into slavery, "but God meant it for good." And so it is with every calamity of those who love God. God meant it for good!

This refers to the fact that all of His creation, spiritual and physical are supposed to work together as one family with different members.

Let me start with the full verses:
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called [us] with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began...
God's purpose and design is in Jesus; all things are for Him.

The love is God. To love God meens to live this love,to love mother,father,sister,brother,son,daughter,childrens,mens,enemies,...and
so one.Jesus said, see Me in other mens, when you do something to somebody, you do to Me.... When we live our good feelings we are very cloth to God(in God), the Holy Spirit Works with we,for we..,is near us..... For God only the good feelings metter ,we must live them. When said you to somebody, from your all heart, onest, that you love it?.......Yes,we all don't live our feelings,we live only our duty.
God call for us all,(remember what said Jesus many will be called)... mens who live in spiritualy love onest(because God sees our hearts),can understand God,are in armony with God,and God works by them for the goodness of menkind. Are mens who have receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, which God gives by His plain, according to His purpose.
