I know mostly every hair stylist can thin out a womans hair, but what about a guys? My hair is extremely thick and is about a medium length, but its realy bushy and stuff. Is there anyway i could thin it out, or if I walked into a place and ask would I complelty embarass myself?

no not at all embarrassing! my mate has very thick hair and he goes monthly to get it thinned out so he can carry off the "emo" long fringe that's really fashionable at the moment, they just use thinning scissors. A pretty typical and everyday thing i think. I think you can even buy thinning scissors in the chemist if you where to embarrassed to go to a salon!

You are lucky for having thick hair...

I used to have really thick hair before it started thinning as a result of genetics.

But this isn't a sob session for me.

When I had thick hair the barber used these scissors that had little ridges on it. It looked like a tool that would have been birthed if a pair of scissors and a saw mated. This would thin my hair out.

Hi. I think most salons will be prepared to cut a blokes hair. They will use pretty much the same technique as they do for ladies hair.

Razoring works best, but they do also use thinning scissors. These don't give as even or professional looking results, but they do work.

Good luck.
