I'm sorry, but apparently you don't understand the LDS religion at all. We do believe in not drinking, smoking or using drugs. This is to keep our bodies free from addiction and to help us be able to think without influence from outside substances.

In the early days of the Chruch, the men would sit around chewing tabacco and would spit all over the floors. They would smoke cigars and drink during services. This made for a very unpleasant meeting for the women who had to clean up after them. Joseph's wife Emma asked him if he could talk to the men about not spitting on the floors, and to keep drinking from the meetings. Joseph agreed and later, he was told by God that these things weren't good for our bodies. It was also reveiled at a this time what we call "The word of wisdom". It tells us what is best for our bodies, and how to use certain things for our benefit.

Your question has a tone of mockery about it. Joseph Smith did not see the great Salt Lake except in vision. Brigham Young was the prophet that literally saw the valley of the Salt Lake, destined to become a metropolis unequaled.

Besides, the Word of Wisdom--that set of holy revelation teaching the Saints what to avoid and what to use in good health--was already in force.

I am not mormon I am Restorationist but your question mocks everything a Mormon, a member of the Community of Christ, or a restorationsit believes in. Jesus turned the water to wine because his mother asked him not because he wanted to have a huge kegger in Canna. The Mormons dont believe it is right to drink because as one person said in here they believe in keeping their bodies pure dont mock that. Just because they choose not to drink does not mean you have a right to mock them

I wish! Then Utah wouldn't have their absolutely retarded liquor laws. Unfortunately, Joseph Smith is dead (and in a completely unexpected afterlife).

I don't think they would because the other prophets after him would say not to and it's not healthy for you to drink beer.
