MIP actually is a crimminal complaint in most states. Even if it's normally just a violation in your state, your status on probation complicates things seriously as violation of probation itself is a crimminal offense most of the time. That's why you were arrested. Assuming that your probation is violated by that offense, you'll probably have to serve whatever custodial term was adjudicated originally, plus any imposed for the MIP complaint.

But don't take my layman's word for anything. You need to be talking to your lawyer.

When a person is given probation , it is given as a chance to correct your mistake, given that the judge has been generous to you at the time. If , for some reason , you do not abide by the conditions of your probation......you will be required to be called in for your second mistake and that may mean time in a detention centre ( jail ) or time in a mental hospital for observation as to why you keep breaking probation.
Probation has RULES AND CONDITIONS WITH IT AND WHEN YOU ARE ON IT YOU MUST BE CAREFUL.

Good- luck and try to follow the rules of the judical system .

Maybe they will put you in jail for a few days. If so you could use that free time to brush up on your spelling!
