None are safe. They all have pretadors in them.I started chatting when I was 8,and I met 40 year old guys telling to me do things that I didnt even know about.Dont even let her chat, cuz then she'll end up like other kids who are missing because they were chatting to someone they thought was their age,but who was really 40 or 50.

None are safe. Even Neopets doesn't allow children under a certain age (I think it's around 10-13) to participate in chat rooms.
The reason being is that even with all of the filters, you can't filter everything. Children are still vulnerable to providing personal information, name, schools, you name it...that a filter would never catch.
Even on the "tamest" sites, links can be posted to things that children shouldn't see (like pornography).
I wish I knew of a safe chatroom for a child this young....I really do. But the sad reality is that it doesn't exist.

Chuck E. Cheese may well be a worthwhile place, besides the shown fact that it may well be extra of a "take a woman descendant and go away your son in the back of with a be conscious" rather of an actually commerce. Your son would be great as long as you provide him a great form of tokens to instruct how lots you like him. purely understand which you will no longer be able to commerce lower back while your 15 year previous daughter comes domicile pregnant, or will become a stripper. you're on your individual.

I don't believe 8 year olds should be allowed in chatrooms, this is too young. They should be outside playing with neighbors and meeting real people. Too many crazy people out there and you would never really know who your daughter was talking to.

Your question is an oxymoron (a safe chatroom for a child is completely impossible) and you would be wise to keep your baby off the internet all together unless we're talking Playhouse Disney online!

if you have AOL they have KOL. Kids on line. They have monitored chat rooms. It's kind of cute to cause if the kids get grouchy with each other they get chat time outs. The host kicks them out of the chat room for 15 min. They also are kicked out if they give any personal info out. ex. school name etc. It's constantly monitored and it's set up by age. But no matter what if you allow your child to chat at ANY age keep an eye on them. Read what they are chatting about etc. Most 8 year olds will want you to type for them so that's easy on what they are chatting about. Also KOL sends parents reports on their chatting and web surfing. Which is age set as well. If they go to a site that isn't age appropriate it will ask for the account holders password..g/l

predators always head for the young childrens room. I don't really think at 8 your child needs to be in a chatroom. let her use the phone to call a friend or realative.

Ask your local sex offender.. .I'm sure he knows them.
Sorry for the sarcasm, but there is NO "safe" chat room on the internet. Not until they can come in your home and verify that you are who you say you are, that you are the age they say you are... and do that to everyone in every chat room... not until then will it be "safe" for a child that young.
Better option? Get IM... and have your child's friends/family members of the same age connect there. That way you know who they're chatting with. My nieces know all their out-of-state cousins because my brother and sister got them hooked up on IM... They see one another once every few years, but they KNOW one another because they were IMing all through high school...

I honestly wouldn't trust my 8 year old to be in a chat room. It is unneccasary. That is a perfect place for old pervy men to go and lure young kids.
Personally no chat rooms are safe. I mean there is alwasy that one person who says something stupid.
If she wants to play on the computer, get a parental control thing, and only games you choose are allowed.
As for chats I wouldn't risk it.
