To boil perfect eggs simply place them gently into a saucepan and cover with cold water. Set the stove on high and bring the eggs to a boil. Boil for just two minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit for 12 minutes. In the meantime, fill a large bowl or pot with cold water and ice. When the 12 minutes is up gently lift each egg out of the hot water and set it in the ice water. This will stop the cooking process and help you avoid the green outer shell on the yolk. When the eggs are nice and cold lift them out and let them dry on a dish towel. The resulting eggs will be firm and have a beautiful golden yolk that is cooked, yet yielding.

For soft boiled eggs about 3 minutes, for hard boiled about 5 minutes and I have a neat trick to be sure they are hard boiled and that is once they have boiled for a few minutes, I take a spoon and take an egg out of the water and if the shell dries off almost instantly then it is done. Try it it works.

Bring water to a boil and then cover and turn off the heat. For soft boiled eggs, let them sit for 8 minutes, for hard boiled let them sit for 15 minutes. Use a timer and as soon as the timer goes off, drain the hot water and rinse the eggs with cool water to stop them from cooking anymore. Perfect boiled eggs everytime!

Put the eggs out on the counter while you boil the water. If the eggs are at room temperature they will not crack when you put them in the boiling water. Let them cook for 5 to 7 minutes. Perhaps a little longer if you are cooking a lot of eggs.

Probably the quickest way is put in a pan with the water just above the eggs and put on medium heat. then when the water starts to boil let them in for about 9 minutes and then take them off the fire. leave on hot water for a couple minutes then take all the water out and put cold water and let them cool before peeling them
