To treat freckles that are already present, several safe and effective methods are available:
Bleaching creams -- Products containing hydroquinone and kojic acid can be purchased without a prescription. Higher concentrations of hydroquinone (over 2%) require a prescription. These products can lighten freckles if they are applied consistently over a period of months.
Tretinoin, sometimes used in conjunction with other bleaching creams, tretinoin(vitamin A acid, Retin-A) also helps to make freckles lighter when applied over a period of time. Laser surgery and cryosurgery can also be used.

You will have all the old wifes tales ..one I heard from my ex-wife..who had many freckles..rub lemon juice over them..leave over night...But truthfully why would you want to get rid of them they are usually quite attractive..and they normally get lighter as the years go by..My ex use to say it was where god and angels kissed you when you were born..I didn't leave my ex ..cos she was crazy..it was for other reasons..

i work for a plastic surgeon and we do laser treatments on pigmented spots all the time. it really does work however if you have a lot of freckles, be ready for some discomfort.
