im currenty lifting weights, and when im done squating, as soon as i rack the weight, i feel like i have to clench or flex my back because if i relax it i feel extreme pain, so i have to relax my back very slowly(it is still painful) whats wrong with me? the pain seems to be just slightly to the left of my spine.

It sounds like your spinal erector is cramping from too much strain. It may be your lifting technique or it may be that you have something out of alignment. Lower your weight a bit and ask someone to watch you from all angles to ensure you aren't drifting off to one side. If you still feel pain at the lower weight, stop for a while and get your back checked by a professional.

You may be able to find a chiropractor in your area that gives out free exams and x-rays during the first visit. During the initial work-up they should be able to spot any skeletal abnormalities that may be causing the pain. Try the therapy they offer. You may be surprised at how well they can tune you up.

Reduce the mount of weight a little.
