as the guest of honor at a party should I bring a hostess gift or send flowers the next day? Any other ideas? thanks

Be gracious, a good guest and invite the person to happy hour or to lunch the next time!

** Flowers are very thoughtful!
this person must think very highly of you to go to this effort!

Flowers the next day and a card thanking them and acknowledging all of the work they put into the party would be a nice gesture.
