Homemade Ice Cream in a Ziplock Bag

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)
6 tablespoons salt

PREPARATION:
Put milk, vanilla and sugar into a pint or quart-sized freezer bag. Seal well.
Fill a large, gallon-sized freezer bag with ice. Add the salt. (We used rock salt.)

Put the smaller bag into the larger bag and seal.

Shake and mix until the ice cream thickens, about 10 minutes.

You can also let the kids gently throw the bag back and forth to help mix the ice cream. The bag gets very cold, so you might want to use towels to hold it.
Makes 1 serving

To make without a freezer try this one. or you can purchase an ice cream freezer at most any store like wal-mart, K-mart, sears, etc. and it has recipes and directions in it. (About $50.00)
3 egg yolks*
1 (14-ounce) can condensed milk
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate sandwich cookies, coarsely crushed
2 cups heavy cream, whipped

In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks and stir in the condensed milk and vanilla. Fold in the crushed cookies and whipped cream. Pour mixture into a 9 by 5-inch loaf pan lined with foil. Cover and freeze for 6 hours or until firm.
To serve, scoop ice cream from pan or cut into slices.
*RAW EGG WARNING
Food Network Kitchens suggest caution in consuming raw and lightly-cooked eggs due to the slight risk of Salmonella or other food-borne illness. To reduce this risk, we recommend you use only fresh, properly-refrigerated, clean, grade A or AA eggs with intact shells, and avoid contact between the yolks or whites and the shell.

Beat 4 egg whites untill fluffy.
Beat in 4 egg yolks.
Add 2 cups sugar.
Beat untill sugar is dissolved.
Add 1 pint heavy cream or half and half.
1 tablespoon vanilla and three pints whole milk.

You could make it a little richer by using a quart
of half and half and 2 pints of milk.

Pour into canister. Put canister in bucket. Install motor. Fill bucket with layers of ice and rock salt. Turn motor on. Keep filled with ice/salt until motor stops. Carefully remove canister so you don't get ice/salt in your ice cream.
