There is no painless way of breaking up with someone. The best way is the band-aid method - the quicker its removed, the less it hurts. You need to do it now and do it quickly. If you're not into this relationship, that is fine. Its just one of those things. But don't let it linger and don't lead him on. Just tell him how you feel and that you don't want to be with him any more. You don't by any means have to be mean about it, but you do need to be honest and up front. I realize that this is much easier said than done. I'm not going to sugar coat it. It is going to suck to do and his reaction may not be easy to deal with. You sound like a nice person and I think you do care about his feelings, so this is going to be difficult, but it needs to be done. In the long run you are both better off - its not fair to either you or him if you stay in this relationship if you don't want to be there. You are both better off if you do this ASAP. There is no easy way but do not:
1) do it over the phone.
2) on line.
3) by mail.
Do it face-to-face..Let him know that you are not intent on hurting and that you are sorry that he is hurt but that you need to move on and that in the long run it is best for him also..Tell him that you know he dosen't want to be with someone who is unhappy in the relationship and dosen't want to be with him.

talk it out with him and just give him a good reason, but in my experience you cant break up w/ some1 and not hurt them.

no matter wat u have to tell them y it is that ur letting them go ...but no matter wat they're gonna be hurt at first but eventually they will understand it just takes some time to get over someone that they love
