I'm buying a traditional fiberglass recruve bow to learn target shooting. Will 28" standard arrows work?

The best thing to do is go to an archery pro shop. The length of the arrow is only the starting point in choosing arrows. When you find the correct length you will need to know exactly how much the draw weight is. They will have a chart to show you what size arrow you need to make sure it is spined right. Too heavy or light an arrow will cause accuracy problems. They will pick the correct size shaft and cut them to lenght and install the inserts and you'll be ready to shoot. Have fun shooting.

You need to go in to an archery shop and have the arrow length matched to your draw length.
You don’t wont too short of arrow for safety reasons, and to long also has it’s drawbacks.
Go in and be fitted to what is need for you shooting requirements.

Arrow length will depend on your length of draw. Stand with your fist against the wall and measure to your anchor point, that will be your length of draw.
