I have a chocolate lab that does the same thing... except instead of licking... she chews them RAW!
My vet explained that it IS ALLEGRIES! There is something that she is allergic to... Also, look at the area in between the pads... (For my lab it is webbed so it is easy to see)... but it is often red and very sore.
My vet told me to give my dog (2.5 years) that Benadryl is a great substitute for dog allergy meds.
1 pill for every 25 lbs! (My dog takes 4 at a time twice a day) It has helped... but not full proof!
Good Luck!!!

Contact your vet again. She may need a new medication or a new diet. Allergies appear most often in dogs on their skin (while we sneeze and get watery eyes, they get itchy feet). One of my dogs has alergies to just about everything. I now use only a special laundry detergent, low alergen foods, and antihistamines.
You may need to visit a specialist (doggy dermatologist) and have her tested.

I own Boston's for over 12 years. This is one of their traits. They are exceptionally clean dogs, my son has his own dog and she will lick wherever she plans to sleep or where ever she decides to just lay down. Don't get flusterated,,,,,get a book about Boston Terriers and I promise you it will answer alot of questions you have. Plus it tells you alot about the breed and how their disposition is. Good Luck!

I have a Mastiff named Baxter, he is 2 and has licked and licked his feet since i got him as a pup..I see no harm in him doing it, his skin is fine, and he has no evidence of allergies.. I'm not positive, bur it might just be someting that they do?

Maybe the allergy meds aren't working well with her. I would suggest giving your vet a call, they don't charge you for that, and just tell him what's going on, and see if she might need a different medication, or maybe he can suggest something you can do.

put her feet in to water and do that enough she will stop licking but first take her to the vet. some dogs just do that like grooming themselves and they will even bite their own toe nails off. but take her to the vet. l think it is a grooming thing.

maybe she has a foot fetish:)
Make sure none of her nails are broken- she may be trying to relieve the pain if that is the case.
