I've seen them. They are called UV tattoos. I think it's kinda freaky and kinda cool at the same time. Anyway, I don't think you should get it just yet. Although it's been tested for a decade and no ill effects have appeared, each tattoo parlor mixes their own ink and there's no federal standard. Even if some of them say "FDA Approved", it's actually approved for marking and tracking fish and game. Not human use. Get your tattoo and wait for the UV ink to be federally approved.

I've heard of it and seen a few people with it, but I would never use it. It hasn't really been around long enough to be tested for adverse side effects, plus what's the point of a tattoo you can't see? If you want one just to show off under the blacklights at clubs and stuff it'd be cheaper and safer to just get a fake one.

I work with law enforcement, and yes, it's been around for a while. There are quite a few "gangs" who use it, to identify each other using a black light. The notice I read stated that it does not appear to last very long.

I've heard of it and I seen it in a documentary but I don't personally know anyone with one... I've also seen a pic of a girl with a white ink tattoo so they look more girly and there is new ink that people are working on that with a laser the body dissolves it if you don't want it anymore! cool huh?! ;o)

it's not very new. it was available in 1999 when i got my first tattoo. it works if that's what you're asking. many tattoo artists don't use it tho because nobody really knows how it will hold up over time or what affect it may have on your skin

i have a friend who was. she likes it, but i think its kind of... tacky.
but its outlining her pre-existing tattoo, and the edges didnt turn out right, so... that could be it.
how many places would you be where there was a blacklight?
i guess its good for when youre an old person and dont want that butterfly on your lower back to be visible to your grandchildren, right?
haha.
but it worked.... pretty well. her tattoo just was effed up.

sounds kind of stupid to me...why get a tattoo you can't see under regular light? Or are you going to stay under a blacklight for the rest of your life?..Why get one at all? Maybe you need one of those temporary ones...
